City of New Hampton to Utilize DOT Funding to Replace Two Bridges
The Iowa DOT has offered to help the City of New Hampton to replace not one, but two bridges in town.
Mayor Steve Geerts says the City Council has approved taking the DOT up on their latest offer for funding to help replace or rehabilitate the bridge on East Spring Street.
The City had previously agreed to have the DOT help replace the bridge on East Hamilton as well, though Geerts says that project will require a little more work on the City’s part.
Geerts says the East Hamilton bridge is to be replaced in 2026, with the East Spring bridge slated for 2028.
