Iowa’s first of two shotgun deer hunting seasons runs Saturday (12.07) through Wednesday (12.11).
Chickasaw County Sheriff Ryan Shawver urges hunters to secure permission from the property owner of the land you wish to hunt.
Shawver says a variety of sources are available to find out who the landowner is prior to hunting.
Shawver adds there are proper protocols to follow after shooting a deer.
Iowa’s second shotgun deer hunting season runs December 14-22.
