American Education Week Celebrates Students, Teachers, Staff, Leaders

It’s American Education Week (Nov. 18-22)

Jenny Adam, fifth through eighth grade band director for the New Hampton School District, says school board members and administrators are recognized Monday (11.18) and Tuesday (11.19).

Adam  says the retirement of Superintendent Jay Jurrens will be felt in the district. 

Jurrens announced in September he would retire at the end of the 2024-25 school year, which is June 30, 2025.

American Education Week continues Wednesday (11.20) by saluting support staff, followed by teachers on Thursday (11.21), and substitute teachers and students on Friday (11.22).

The theme for this year’s American Education Week is “Together for Safe, Just, & Equitable Schools.”
