Final Push for Water Service Line Survey Completion in New Hampton

The City of New Hampton is making its final push to meet a federally-mandated deadline to update its records for residential and commercial water service lines throughout town.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) recently revised the Lead-Copper rule and is requiring citywide inventories to be completed for lead service lines by October 16th, 2024. New Hampton Mayor Steve Geerts says the current plan is to file their report by this Friday (10.11).
Geerts adds that the City could be subject to a fine for not sufficiently completing the survey.
Geerts says there’s still time for New Hampton home and business owners to submit a water service line survey for each property they own.
The survey can be completed online at www.newhamptonia.com or contact City Hall to have City staff come to your property to complete the survey for you.
