While summer heat forced Charles City Schools to send students home early Monday (08.26) afternoon, Superintendent Brian Burnight told the School Board Monday night that last Friday’s (08.23) first day of classes was a “cool” experience for a select group of students.
Burnight classified the first day of school as a “great day to be a Comet” and a great opportunity to lay the foundation for the rest of the school year.
He also noted that he’s spending some one-on-one time with school principals this week as well as visiting classrooms throughout the school district.
