Charles City Police are conducting what they have classified as a death investigation.
A department Facebook post about 1:30 pm Thursday (08.22) afternoon alerted the public of the investigation and that “there is no reason to believe there is any danger or risk to the public.”
CCPD was dispatched to a residence in the 1000 block of Court Street, just west of the Floyd County Courthouse, shortly before noon. Chief Hugh Anderson says upon entry to the residence, two deceased persons were located.
The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation was notified and assisted with the incident as well as the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office and AMR Ambulance Services.
At this time, no names are being released as authorities work to contact family members.
