Charles City Police are on the scene conducting what they have classified as an ongoing death investigation.
A department Facebook post about 1:30 pm Thursday (08.22) afternoon alerted the public of the investigation and that “there is no reason to believe there is any danger or risk to the public.”
CCPD is at a residence cordoned off by yellow tape in the 1000 block of Court Street, just west of the Floyd County Courthouse. An AMR Ambulance is also present and, what we believe to be a Floyd County medical examiner, arrived shortly before 2 pm.
