New Hampton Swimming Pool Forced to Close For Rest of Season

The New Hampton Swimming Pool has been forced to shut down early for the remainder of the season.

A New Hampton Swimming Pool Facebook post says the facility had to be closed effective immediately after a pair of glass pool goggles shattered in the pool on Monday (08.120. The notice added, “Because of the glass, we must follow protocol and drain the pool. Unfortunately, it takes a few days to be able to safely drain the pool, clean it, refill, and apply start up chemicals. Due to the timeline, we (Park-Rec Department) had to make the difficult decision to close the pool for the 2024 season. We greatly apologize for the inconvenience.”

The public is also asked to “Please, please, please do NOT purchase glass swim goggles for your child, they are NOT allowed in public pools for this very reason. Thank you for your understanding, and we look forward to a successful 2025 pool season.”

THE SPLASH PAD WILL REMAIN OPEN THROUGH LABOR DAY!
