NIACC Career Academy in Charles City Ready for Start of School Year

North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) is ready for the inaugural class of high school students to begin taking courses in the new Charles City Career Academy.
New NIACC President Joel Pedersen says the Career Academy, in the Charles City NIACC Center, will allow students from Charles City, Clarksville, Nashua-Plainfield, North Butler, Osage, Riceville, and Rudd-Rockford-Marble Rock school districts to take CTE courses in healthcare, construction, IT and advanced manufacturing.
Pedersen says there are still openings for students to take advantage of.
The public will have the chance to meet Pedersen and tour the new Charles City Career Academy during a Welcome Reception this Thursday (08.15) from 5 to 6:30 pm.
Pederson adds that plans are also in the works for NIACC to establish a similar career academy in Hampton in partnership with the Hampton-Dumont-Cal, Belmond-Klemme, and West Fork school districts.
NIACC opened its first career academy in Forest City in Fall 2021.
