Charles City Housing & Redevelopment Authority Announces Certified Tenant Program

The Charles City Housing and Redevelopment Authority (CCHRA), in partnership with the Charles City Housing Taskforce, has announced its inaugural Certified Tenant Program.

The CCHRA’s Emily Garden says the three-night course focuses on a variety of skill sets aimed at growing tenants’ competencies around home care, personal finance, and community. Classes are planned for September 19 and 26 and October 3 from 6 to 7:30 pm each session at the CCHRA office, located 205 Greenlees Circle in Charles City. Childcare will be provided.

Garden adds, “Housing is a complex and serious need across the United States. The Charles City Housing Taskforce aims to provide education, resources, and increased access to quality housing for all.”

Attendance at all three courses is required to achieve certified tenant status and receive your completion gift. There will also be a raffle for a $50 Kwik Star gift card at each class and participants who attend all three evenings will receive a new set of pans.

Class size is limited, so tenants are encouraged to register soon. Registration details are included below.

In addition, tenants who are renting a CCHRA property will receive a $100 gift card when they  pass their yearly housekeeping inspection.
