Charles City Police Host National Night Out Tuesday (08.06)

To promote positive police-community partnerships, the Charles City Police Department invites the public to National Night Out from 5 to 7:30 pm Tuesday (08.06) night in Central Park.
Police Chief Hugh Anderson says the event offers a great opportunity for citizens and officers to get to know each other in a relaxed environment.
Activities also include distribution of free shoes to kids by the United Way and Valero Renewables, plus free backpacks filled with school supplies by the Salvation Army and Zoetis.
There will also be bouncy toys, face painting, water ball with the Charles City Fire Department, the HyVee Health Trailer, and pictures with a cop.
Unfortunately, Anderson says the MercyOne Air Med helicopter will not be making a fly-in appearance, but the Iowa State Patrol will be on hand and there will be a Jaws-of-Life demonstration.
Similar Night Out events are being hosted Tuesday night by the Waverly, Decorah, and Mason City police departments.
