Chickasaw County Relay for Life “Stomp Out Cancer” Sunday (08.04) in Lawler

Chickasaw County Relay for Life will host the second annual “Stomp Out Cancer” Sunday (08.04) in Lawler.

Organizer Lacy Carolan says donations from the event support American Cancer Society efforts to help those battling cancer.

Unfortunately, many have lost their battles with cancer, but Carolan says you can honor them with a luminaria, available for a $10 donation at Bank Iowa or First Citizens Bank.

Festivities from 11 am to 3 pm Sunday at Highland Park in Lawler include quilt raffle, food, kids activities, live music and  guest speakers who talk about their cancer journeys, either as survivors or caregivers.

In advance of “Stomp Out Cancer,” the Lawler Lions Club will host a four-person best-shot golf tournament Friday (08.02) at Jackson Heights Golf Course, with proceeds also helping the fight against cancer.
