North Iowa Motorcyclist Killed in Collision with Car

One man was killed after his motorcycle collided with a car in North Iowa Sunday (07.28) afternoon.

The Iowa State Patrol says the wreck occurred at about 1 pm at the intersection of Highway 18 and 160th Avenue, just east of Algona. 42-year-old Adam Allen of Pocahontas was riding a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle westbound on Highway 18 and a 2024 Nissan Sentra was southbound on 160th Avenue.  The crash report says the Sentra failed to stop at the stop sign, entered the intersection, and was struck by Allen’s motorcycle.

Allen died at the scene and the 17-year-old driver of the Sentra, whose name was not immediately released, was flown by helicopter to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City for treatment.

The Kossuth County Sheriff’s Office, Algona Police Department, and Algona Fire/EMS assisted with the crash.
