Sumner-Fredericksburg, New Hampton Open Class 2A State Baseball Tournament Tuesday (07.23)
An all-Chickasaw County semifinals matchup could be brewing at the Class 2A State Baseball Tournament in Carroll.
In Tuesday’s (07.23) 4:30 pm matchup, Sumner-Fredericksburg squares off against Wilton in the quarterfinals. Cougars Coach Tom Nuss says he’s taking a different approach than he did his last trip to state.
In Tuesday’s 7 pm 2A quarterfinal game, it’s New Hampton against Aplington-Parkersburg. Chickasaws center fielder and pitcher Braden McShane has set his goals high.
If both Sumner-Fred and New Hampton win Tuesday night, they’ll square off Thursday (07.25) night. If so, it’ll just be the latest time Nuss crosses paths with Chickasaws head coach Corey McDonald.
New Hampton pitcher Kael Meyers is all for a Chickasaws-Cougars showdown Thursday.
