Charles City High School Students Included in PBS Theatre Showcase Broadcast Tuesday (07.09)

Iowa PBS will present the “2024 Iowa High School Musical Theater Awards Showcase” on Tuesday, July 9, at 8 p.m., including participation by the Charles City High School Theater Department.
The two-hour highlights program features performances from the showcase which was held May 30 at the Des Moines Civic Center. It includes the opening number and finale, selections from the various medleys performed by the students and the announcement of the Triple Threat Award.
Charles City High School was recognized for its performance of “Godspell” in November. In the awards showcase, CCHS students Blake Hoeft and Savannah Baldus performed in a collaborative interschool medley led by guest Brodway music director and choreographer. The school was also honored with a Production Award for “Distinguished Scene” and Hoeft received a special recognition for his performance as “Nick/Thomas Aquinas.”
