Charles City 4th of July Parade Route Approved

While a tweak or two might still be made, it appears Charles City officials have settled on the route for this year’s Fourth of July parade.

The path of the parade has been thrown into flux with the Main Street rehabilitation project. Monday (06.03) night, Chamber of Commerce Director Mark Wicks laid out to the City Council what looks to be THE route with the parade one month away.

Wicks says the Chamber has been working closely with the police department to develop a route that is safe, but also keeps it in the downtown Charles City area.

City Councilman DeLaine Freeseman reminded citizens that altering this year’s parade route is part of the growing pains that come with the Main Street Rehab.

With the parade route approved by the City Council, Wicks added that registration for parade entries with the Chamber is now open.
