Absentee In-Person Voting for June Primary Starts Wednesday (05.15)

Absentee in-person voting starts Wednesday (05.15) for the June 4th primary election.
Two-thirds of the Floyd County Board of Supervisors will be new come 2025, with neither District 1 Supervisor Mark Kuhn nor District 3 Supervisor Jim Jorgensen seeking re-election. Their terms both end this December 31st.Â
The only person to file for the June 4th Primary for either post is Boyd Campbell, who registered to run for Jorgensen’s seat.Â
As it stands now, District 2 Supervisor Dennis Keifer will be the lone holdover for the Board next year.
Who’s ever on the Board to start 2025 will be working with a new County Auditor, a position currently occupied by Gloria Carr, who will retire when her term ends December 31st. Democrat Liz Hamm and Republican Morrigan Miller have both filed to run to replace Carr.Â
The Chickasaw County Board of Supervisors will have at least one new member in 2025.
Fourth District Supervisor Matt Kuhn will not seek re-election, with Terry Johnson and Isaac Carter, both Republicans, registered for the June 4th Primary.
Current Third District Supervisor Jacob Hackman will seek another term and is the only Republican candidate for the primary, while Joan Knoll will run on the Democratic side.
