Charles City Compost Site to Have Restricted Access for Spring Cleanup

Access to the  Shaw Avenue compost site in Charles City will be restricted in advance of and during the 2024 Spring Cleanup.

Water and Street superintendent Cory Spieker says the compost site will be closed to the public from 3 pm on April 19th until 7 am on  April 20th.  The area will also be closed again at 7 pm each night from April 20th until April 29th.  

The closures are being put in place to restrict access to the dumpsters that will be on-site for the Spring Cleanup Drop Off event scheduled for those days.
