Iowa Advances to Women’s NCAA Basketball Tournament Championship Sunday

The Iowa women’s basketball team will play in the NCAA Tournament national title game for the second straight year.

The Hawkeyes advanced with a 71-69 defeat of Connecticut in a Final Four semifinal game Friday (04.05) night and will face South Carolina for the championship Sunday (04.07) afternoon at 2 pm. The Gamecocks move into the title matchup with a 78-59 victory over North Carolina State, also on Friday night.

Sunday championship game in Cleveland, Ohio, will pit the the number one player in the country, Iowa’s Caitlin Clark, against the number one team in the nation, South Carolina, now 36-o.
