State Attorney General Bird Tours Charles City Train Depot

Iowa State Attorney General Brenna Bird was in Charles City Thursday (03.21) to get a firsthand look at the old train depot and train cars that will make up the American Passenger Train History Museum.

Bird says keeping Iowa’s train history alive is important.

Meanwhile, fundraising continues to restore the train depot at the corner of North Grand Avenue and 11th Street.

The museum’s Bob Moen says costs for refurbishing the depot are estimated at over $1 million, with about $250,000 raised thus far. He says they recently applied for a grant that could net over a half-million dollars towards the project.
