Groundwork Being Laid for Phase 3 Construction of New Hampton Tribe Trail 

Thanks to above-average temperatures and dry conditions, crews have begun the groundwork for Phase 3 construction of the Tribe Trail in New Hampton.

That’s New Hampton Park-Rec Director Tara Hackman, who adds that the pouring of concrete for the trail won’t start until May at the earliest while they wait for the weather to stabilize.

But then, they’re used to waiting to finish a project that started back in 2016, though Hackman said they weren’t expecting it to take eight years.

And, while fundraising is complete for the final leg of the trail, Hackman says they would still like to add some extra features.

Expected to open this fall, Phase 3 will connect the Tribe Trail from Linn Avenue on the south side of New Hampton with the Chickasaw Wellness Center on the west side of town.
