Former Oliver/White Farm Employees to Gather Thursday (02.29) in Charles City

The Oliver/White Farm tractor plant closed in Charles City in 1993.
31 years later, former employees are invited to take a nostalgic look back during an informal get-together Thursday (02.29) morning at Dave’s Restaurant in Charles City.
Dick Neal, who worked at the plant from 1962 to 1985, says the casual gathering has been in the works for a while.
Neal adds it doesn’t no matter how long you worked at the plant.
Neal says word of the get together has been making the rounds.
The Oliver/White Farm get together at Dave’s starts at 8 am Thursday morning, with a tentative end time of 10:30 am, but there’s no hard wrap up time.
Contact Neal (641-330-9228) or Duane Kilby (641-220-6270) for more information.
At its height of operation, the Charles City tractor plant sprawled across 23 acres and employed almost 3,000 people.Â
