Bond Review Delayed for Northeast Iowa Man Accused of Killing Wife

A northeast Iowa man accused of killing his wife will continue to be held without bond for at least two more weeks.

37-year-old Brandon Kasemeier is facing a first-degree murder charge in the death of his estranged wife, Jami Kasemeier,  who was found deceased at her home in Waukon the morning of January 22nd.

According to court documents, Waukon Police officers had to force entry into the home during a welfare check and discovered Jami dead with “extensive injuries to her face.” An empty handgun case and several fired .22 caliber cartridge casings were also allegedly found in the home.

It’s believed she was killed on January 21st, the last day family members say they heard from Jami. On January 23rd, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office arrested Brandon Kasemeier in Loveland, Colorado, and found a .22 (caliber) revolver in his car, believed to be the murder weapon.

Kasemeier is currently being held without bond in the Allamakee County Jail and was slated for bond review hearing Monday (02.26). However, a continuance, approved late Friday (02.23) afternoon, has rescheduled that hearing for March 11th in Allamakee County District Court.

That’s the same date of arraignment to formally charge Kasemeier with murder and for him to enter a plea to the charge.
