Street Crews Continue Cleanup in Wake of Winter Storms

City officials are asking for citizens to help accommodate the continuing efforts of street crews to clear snow.
That’s New Hampton Mayor Steve Geerts, who also reminds residents there are options to temporarily move your vehicles off the streets.
Water and Street Superintendent Cory Spieker reminds Charles City residents to move parked cars as soon as possible to allow snow plows to clear streets. Please, clear a path from all fire hydrants to the street and at least 3 feet around the fire hydrant. Do not put your trash bins in the street. Â
Citizens are also give the plow truck drivers room when they are plowing. These trucks are large and difficult to maneuver. Please stay back, so that if they need to back up we have room to do so. Or better yet, avoid the area all together and go around the block.
