Charles City Man Could Serve Up to 30 Years in Prison for Child Sex Abuse
A Charles City man could serve up to three decades in prison for sexually abusing a child.
Charles City Police arrested 34-year-old Daniel Hibner last March after a female victim under seven-years-old reported abuse to a forensic investigator at the Allen Child Protection Center in Waterloo. Â
Hibner was originally charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, but in October, agreed to plead guilty to three counts of lascivious acts with a child, all Class C felonies. Â
Hibner has been sentenced to a prison term not to exceed 10 years on each count, to be served consecutively. After his release from prison, Hibner must register as a sex offender and be subject to “special sentencing†in which he’ll be on probation with the Iowa Department of Corrections for life.Â
