New Hampton Residents Can Still Switch Out Garbage Bins

A new automated waste collection system utilizing 65-gallon garbage bins started earlier this week in New Hampton.

Unfortunately, there were issues with some of the bins that were delivered to residents by the City’s waste contractor, Jendro Sanitation. Mayor Bobby Schwickerath says some bins were damaged while others still contained trash from prior use.

The City is reminding residents that if you need your garbage cart switched out, please leave your bin out on Tuesday or Thursday for your regular pickup and Jendro will switch the tubs at that time.

The City is utilizing Solid Waste funds to help pay for the new garbage bins, which will delay the start of the monthly fee of $13.99 charged to residents until February 1, 2024.
