Speed Camera Ordinance on Charles City City Council Agenda
The latest move towards the installation of speed cameras in Charles City is expected when the City Council meets Monday (11.20) night.
In September, the City approved a contract with Altumint to install speed monitoring devices and to provide support services for an initial three-year agreement.
That’s Police Chief Hugh Anderson, who says installation is anticipated to begin this fall, but activation of the cameras is still about three months away.
The next step in the process is the first reading of an ordinance to make the speed cameras official, which is on the agenda for Monday night’s City Council meeting, which begins at 6 pm in City Hall.
The New Hampton City Council also meets in regular session Monday night. Their 7 pm agenda includes a discussion of City ARPA funds and a report from Mayor Bobby Schwickerath on how House File 718, legislation passed earlier this year, is impacting the City’s revenue generating abilities.
