A northeast Iowa pastor spoke of his military experience during Saturday’s (11.11) Veterans Day Ceremony in New Hampton
The event, hosted by American Legion Fae Stine Post 38, featured Pastor Scott Smith from United Church of Christ in Fredericksburg, who served as part of an intelligence team over 20 years ago.
Smith told of his experience of seeing fellow servicemen die on the battlefield, which can leave one wondering why they came home and others did not.
Smith says his military duty took him to Bosnia, Romania and Iraq and he’d serve again if his country asked him to because “service never ends.â€
