FCMC Recognized for Rural Health Performance Leadership

Floyd County Medical Center (FCMC) in Charles City has been recognized with a 2023 Performance Leadership Award for excellence in Quality.Â
Compiled by the Chartis Center for Rural Health, the Performance Leadership Awards honor top quartile performance (i.e., 75th percentile or above) among rural hospitals in Quality, Outcomes and/or Patient Perspective.
FCMC CEO Dawnette Willis said, “We are honored to receive this award as it demonstrates the focus FCMC has placed on quality improvement initiatives over the past several years and the hard work our team has exhibited. It is our mission that we strive daily to provide exceptional, personalized Quality care with compassion to the patients we serve, every patient, every time.â€
The Performance Leadership Awards are based on results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. INDEX data is relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations and state offices of rural health around the country to measure and monitor performance across several areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
The recognition for FCMC was announced this week in conjunction with National Rural Health Day Thursday (11.16).
