Final Week for Charles City Fall Leaf Pickup; Compost & Brush Pickup Saturday in New Hampton

The final fall leaf pickup in Charles City is set for this week(November 13th to the 17th).

The City reminds residents to rake leaves into the street while keeping leaves 12 to 18 inches from the curb to allow for water flow into the storm sewers. Do not include grass clippings, tree branches or dirt in your leaf piles.

Mayor Dean Andrews cautions drivers to be wary of leaf piles until they are cleared from the streets.

Andrews encourages residents to take advantage of the pickup service provided by the City, especially if you have a good amount of leaves like he had.

The City of New Hampton will pick up compost and brush pickup this Saturday (11.18). Residents are reminded that no bags or barrels over 50 pounds will be collected and brush must be no bigger than two-inches in diameter and four feet in length.
