Forecasts from the National Weather Services in La Crosse and Des Moines include 20-to-40 percent chances for snow this Saturday, Saturday night, and Sunday (10.28 to 10.29).
Pete Hjelmstad is with the Mason City District Office of the Iowa DOT. He says at least 50% of the state’s DOT trucks have been ready for snow removal since October 15th, which is a state requirement.
Hjelmstad adds that the DOT has been stockpiled with road salt since last spring.
