Tours This Weekend of Charles City High School in Advance of Bond Referendum

The Charles City School District continues promoting a $28.5 million bond referendum to revitalize Charles City High School. 

If approved on November 7th, about a third of the $28.5 million would build a new 800-seat performing arts auditorium, with other funds going to upgrades and facility improvements to a school building that hasn’t had any major work done to it since it was built 63 years ago.

Mayor Dean Andrews is on the referendum committee helping to explain the bond to voters in a series of community question and answer sessions, including 9 to 11 am this Thursday (10.19) morning at Aroma’s. Thursday night, the school district will host an informational meeting at 6:30 pm in the High School Cafeteria featuring architects for the project. 

Andrews says there are also tours of the High School from 4 to 7 pm this Friday, 10 am to 2 pm Saturday, and 1 to 3 pm Sunday

The bond referendum will require a 60% majority YES vote to pass.
