Charles City Man Agrees to Plea Deal in April Assault
A Charles City man has agreed to a plea deal in an alleged break-in and assault last spring.
Charles City Police arrested 29-year-old Luis Eduardo Gonzalez Herrera in April after he was accused of going to his ex-girlfriend’s home, breaking down a locked and dead-bolted door, and attacking her by hitting, pushing, and grabbing her. He was also alleged to have thrown her cell phone on the ground and stepped on it.
Herrera was charged with first-degree burglary, domestic abuse assault- second offense, and fourth-degree criminal mischief. Monday, he pleaded guilty to the assault with the other counts dismissed as part of a plea deal.
Herrera is scheduled to be sentenced October 30th in Floyd County District Court.
