An Alabama man has pleaded guilty to a north Iowa assault.
Charles City Police arrested 34-year-old Laron Martin of Selma, Alabama, in May after he was accused of attacking another man during an argument. Court records show that when the male victim began walking away, Martin punched him in the side of the head, then picked up the victim and slammed him face first into the ground.
CCPD says the man was knocked unconscious and Martin struck him several times after that. The victim suffered a concussion and a facial fracture.
Martin has pleaded guilty to assault causing serious injury, a Class D felony. His sentencing is set for October 16th in Floyd County District Court.
