Charles City Chamber Leadership Class Looking for Leaders, Volunteers; Starts Wednesday

The Charles City Chamber of Commerce is  launching a new leadership program designed to connect people to potential employers and to their community.

Chamber Director Mark Wicks says the first session, scheduled for this Wednesday (09.13), will also give citizens new and present an opportunity to gain a better understanding of Charles City as a whole.

Wicks adds that the program looks to develop more leaders for both employers and civic groups alike.

Wicks says scholarships are available to help cover program costs, but class size is limited. Classes will meet from 9 am to 4 pm on the second Wednesday of the month for nine months.

Wicks notes that the first session will start in the Zastrow Room at the Charles City Public Library, before moving to a bus tour of the community and walking tour of downtown in the afternoon.

If someone still wants to join the program for this year they can, but they would have to attend all of the remaining sessions in order to graduate. Attendees can only miss one session. If interested, contact Wicks ASAP at 641-228-4234.
