50th Art-a-Fest Saturday (08.19) in Charles City’s Central Park to Feature Special Guest
A Charles City summer tradition hits a milestone this weekend.
The Charles City Arts Center presents its 50th Art-a-Fest, from 10 am to 4 pm Saturday in Central Park.
Arts Center assistant director Karl Haglund says there will be a variety of works on display and for purchase.
Haglund says, new this year is the addition of works by Charles City High School artists. There’s also live music throughout the event and plenty of kids activities.
While many works of art are for sale, Haglund says the artists are also competing for bragging rights.
There will also be several food trucks on hand, plus the Charles City Farmers Market from 9 am to noon Saturday.

***Just announced Friday (08.18) afternoon: Miss Iowa 2023, Alysa Goethe, will be at Art-a-Fest from 2-4pm! She will be in the kids activities area, showing how to make crowns out of sparkly pipe cleaners.
