2023 Mitchell County Fair Queen Looks for a County Repeat at State

This year’s Mitchell County Fair Queen looks to follow in the footsteps of last year’s Mitchell County Fair Queen. 

Katelyn Huebsch, a 2023 graduate of Osage High School, was crowned last Wednesday (08.02) during the Mitchell County Fair. Last year’s queen, Mary Ann Fox of Osage, went on to be named the 2022 Iowa State Fair Queen and has spent the past 12 months making various appearances across the state in that role.  

Huebsch will try her fortunes in Des Moines this week, with the 2023 Iowa State Fair Queen to be crowned Saturday, August 12th.

Previous area county fair queens selected as State Fair Queens include Bremer County’s Abrah Meyer in 2012,  Fayette County’s Stephanie Miller in 2005, Floyd County’s Leah Rae Campbell in 1998, Mitchell County’s Lisa Ahrens in 1996, Franklin County’s Cindy Ahrens in 1995, Cerro Gordo County’s Andrea Preussner in 1987, and Bremer County’s Lori White in 1983.
