Mobile Food Bank Distribution Hours Change in Charles CityÂ

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank (NEIFB) makes its August Mobile Food Pantry visit to Charles City Wednesday (08.02) with expanded distribution hours.
Jenn Burton, with Valero Renewables, is the site coordinator and says drive-thru distribution of food is scheduled from 5:00 to 6:30 pm at the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds. That’s a half-hour earlier start time and means an extra half-hour for those in need to take advantage of the program.
If you have not previously received food from the mobile pantry, Burton says you will need to verify your eligibility, which can be done while you’re waiting in line during distribution.
Burton notes that the Mobile Food Pantry is planning for enough food to be distributed to serve about 165 households, which means it takes about three dozen volunteers to help distribute that much food.
For more information on the program or to volunteer, contact Burton at 641-220-1769.
Hosted by the NEIFB out of Waterloo, the Charles City pantry is available on the first Wednesdays of the month at the Floyd County Fairgrounds.
