Charles City Public Library Lobby Flooring Work Round 2 Coming

For a second time this year, the Charles City Public Library is facing an extended closure due to the flooring in the lobby.
The library closed February 7th for the installation of new tile flooring in the lobby. The original plan called for the project to be completed in less than three weeks, but the closure extended into March.
That’s City Administrator Steve Diers, who adds that, unfortunately, the City has incurred some lost costs with the failed project.
Diers says the re-flooring will be done by a new contractor in August, along with some ceiling and roof work. That will mean access to the interior of the library could be closed off for much of the month.
