South Winneshiek, St. Ansgar One and Done at State Baseball Tournament

The Iowa High School Baseball State Tournament came to a close after just one game for a pair of north/northeast Iowa teams.

South Winneshiek was bounced from the Class 1A quarterfinals Monday afternoon in Carroll with a 6-1 loss to second-ranked Kingsley Pierson. The Warriors were limited to just two hits in the game with Parker Timp driving in their lone run. 

South Winn closes the season 24-12. Kingsley Pierson improves to 28-2.

St. Ansgar also played in the Class 1A quarterfinals, falling to third-ranked Remsen St. Mary’s 3-1. Carson Sparrow drove in the Saints lone run as they finished the season 26-8. 

Remsen St. Mary’s improved to 30-2.
