The trial for an Osage man charged with first-degree murder is being delayed by two months.
24-year-old Nathan Gilmore is accused of killing 29-year-old Angela Bradbury, a Cerro Gordo County woman last seen alive on April 6, 2021. Her remains were found later that summer in rural Mitchell County.
Gilmore has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder, a Class A felony. In March, his request for a change in venue was approved and his trial was moved to Bremer County District Court and was scheduled to begin August 7th.Â
However, that trial date was delayed to October 16th after Gilmore filed a continuance motion on Wednesday (06.14). His legal counsel argued that because the prosecution plans to call additional witnesses for an evidence suppression hearing that was scheduled for June 23rd in Mitchell County District Court, it would not give the defense enough time to depose those witnesses by the August 7th trial date.
In addition to pushing back the trial by two months in Bremer County , a judge is also delaying the suppression hearing requested by Gilmore to August 7th in Mitchell County.
Also this week, Gilmore filed to officially waive his right to trial within one year of his arrest, which came in August of 2022.Â
He remains in the Mitchell County Jail in Osage, held on a $1 million bond.
