Inclusive Playground Construction to Begin Soon at New Hampton’s Runion Park

Kids and families have about two weeks left to enjoy the playground at New Hampton’s Runion Park in its current form.

New Hampton Park-Rec Director Tara Hackman says crews are getting ready to embark on building the new Kindness Square all-inclusive playground.

Hackman says the demolition process will start with tearing down some of the present playground equipment.

With donations to date, including over $180,000 since January, Hackman says they have surpassed their goal of $350,000 to complete “Phase 1” of the project including the playground, concrete work, installation, and fencing. Extra funds will go towards “Phase 2,” which includes a sidewalk leading to the new handicap accessible restroom/pavilion.
