Memorial Day Observance Monday in Charles City

The public is invited to the Memorial Day program Monday (05.29) morning at the VFW in Charles City.

The Remembrance Program to honor fallen veterans will begin at 11 am on the VFW lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. 

In the event of inclement weather, the ceremonies will be moved inside the VFW banquet hall. Monday’s forecast calls for mostly sunny conditions with a high in the mid-80s.

Lunch will follow the program.

Friday morning, volunteers placed flags on graves of fallen veterans at the three cemeteries in Charles City. If you know a veteran who did not have a flag placed at their grave, contact the VFW for a flag at 641-228-4335.
