North Iowans to Shake, Rattle, Stroll for Parkinson’s Disease

North Iowans are asked to “Shake, Rattle and Stroll” for Parkinson’s disease this weekend.

Todd Forsythe of Charles City has had Parkinson’s himself for five years and is one of the organizers for the 5K event that starts at 10 am Saturday in Clear Lake City Park. He says part of the proceeds will benefit the Iowa Parkinson’s Disease Association.

Forsythe says some of the money raised also goes to the national Michael J. Fox Foundation, established by the actor who’s own experiences with Parkinson’s is told in the new film, “Still, The Story of Michael J. Fox.”

Forsythe’s daughter, Riley Montagne, is a nurse who’s seen her dad and others battle Parkinson’s first hand, which is a driving force for her to be involved with this weekend’s 5K.

A link to more information and to register for the 2023 Shake, Rattle and Stroll for Parkinon’s 5K can be found here.
