Lights Get Financial Boost at Lions Field Ball Diamonds in Charles City
The City of Charles City is going to be shedding more light on little league baseball this year.
That’s Park-Rec Director Tyler Mitchell, who says the $20,000 won’t cover all of the light replacement costs, but it puts a good dent in their ongoing effort to upgrade the lighting.
Mitchell says improving the lighting for Lions Field has grown in importance because the diamonds will host more night games for a traveling league for fifth, sixth and seventh grade players, including Charles City.
While it is a traveling league, Mitchell says the teams are open to any player who signs up.
