Charles City Mobile Food Pantry Asks Businesses to Volunteer

The Northeast Iowa Food Bank (NEIFB) will make its next Mobile Food Pantry visit to Charles City on April 5th.

Jenn Burton with Valero Renewables is the site coordinator. As they prepare for their next first-Wednesday-of-the-month, drive-thru distribution of food at the Youth Enrichment Center on the Floyd County Fairgrounds, she’s asking businesses to step up with volunteers.

Burton notes that the Charles City mobile food pantry is one of the largest distribution efforts, as evidenced by the 153 families who received food on March 1st. Burton says they actually ran out of food, so they’re planning for 165 families for the April distribution.

For more information on the program or to volunteer, contact Burton at 641-220-1769.
