National Ag Week Celebrates “This Industry We All Share”

This is National Ag Week with a theme celebrating “This Industry We All Share.”

Devon Murray, President of the Floyd County Farm Bureau, encourages youth to get involved in agriculture, even if you don’t live on a farm..

Murray says the youth participation in FFA throughout the county is among the largest in the state. While that represents a strong outlook for the county’s ag future, Murray also notes that the ag industry’s economic impact on the County is already being realized.

Murray is a fourth generation farmer selling seed corn and growing corn, which has multiple uses, including the production of ethanol.

Murray adds that he has seen many changes in the technical aspect of farming over the years and that trend will continue with innovations such as automated tractors and drone crop sprayers.
