The City of New Hampton Public Works Department is in the process of updating its records for water service lines throughout the community. Â
As part of that updating process, Mayor Bobby Schwickerath says residential and commercial property owners can help by completing the “Lead Service-Line Inventory survey.
Schwickerath says the survey is available by going to the “links†section on the City website, www.newhamptonia.com.Â
A water service line is the connection between the water distribution pipe — the water main in the street or right-of-way— and the water meter in your home or business.
If lead service lines are discovered, you may be eligible to receive funding to have those lines replaced. Contact the City when any questions..
