A north Iowa church wants to help build wells and a school/church in West Africa.
Jennifer Seehusen is a member of the St. John’s Vilmar Lutheran Church near Greene and teaches 5th grade at Charles City Middle School. She says the “Well of Inspiration†project will benefit residents in Liberia, which is the homeland of Washington Elementary School custodian, Teta Ross.
Seehusen says they’re seeking to raise $32,000, which will help provide about 7,000 bricks to build a school/church and install at least five drinking wells. She notes that even with the wells, they still can’t serve everyone in need of clean drinking water.
Seehusen says material donations are also welcome.
Seehusen says items will be transported to Liberia in March.
The church is also hosting a “Soup Lunch and Bake Sale†Sunday, February 12th from 11 am to 1 pm. Cost is a free will donation and all proceeds will go to the “Well of Inspiration†project.Â
