New Hampton Taxable Valuations Hold Steady for Next Budgeting Cycle
Taxable valuations have remained steady for the City of New Hampton as they prepare for 2023-34 Fiscal Year budgeting process.
That’s Mayor Bobby Schwickerath, who says, while stability is good, it also creates a challenge to giving raises to City employees, which is essential to retaining good people.
Schwickerath says the City received their taxable valuations sooner than usual, with the numbers coming in before Christmas.
He adds that the City and department budgets for the new fiscal year starting July 1st, based on their taxable valuations, should be completed by the end of this month.
